We got a very late start this morning due to some pretty bad thunderstorms, so we weren’t sure if I was going to be able to fit in 40 miles today, but I still wanted to try.
I decided to do a ladder today, doing runs of 10, 9, 8, 7, and 6 miles. In the middle of each run I’d stop at the RV for a couple of minutes for some water and then went the rest of the way.
Since we had way less time to work with today, I minimized my rest times in between each run. I took about 15 minutes and then went back out for my next run after I’m refueled.
This actually worked very well. It kept me sharp and I was feeling better each run. I ended up finishing my 40 miles with a little daylight to spare. I’m definitely going to try the same method for my runs tomorrow and see how it works out with an earlier start.
I’d like to thank all of the wonderful people at ProCare in Canton. They had a rummage sale today to raise money for my run and ended up raising over $500! I can’t thank them enough and all of the people who came out to help support it as well.
